We get lots of citrus from friends and neighbors in the spring. I love to juice the lemons and freeze the juice in 1 cup increments for this yummy fresh lemonade recipe. It's from Paula Deen, and I think it's easy and delicious ... not so tart, but not too sweet, IMHO.
Lemonade
(makes 2 quarts ... or may be doubled for 1 gallon)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup hot water (as hot as you can get it from your tap)
1 cup fresh lemon juice (usually this is the juice of 4 lemons)
2 quarts cold water
lemon, sliced (for garnish)
In a pitcher, pour in sugar and hot water. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Add lemon juice and cold water to render 2 quarts. Stir until well mixed.
